How do you pace a HYROX?
Work backwards from your goal: ~50–55% running, ~40% stations, ~6–7% RoxZone. Hold a run pace you can keep as your legs fatigue, and don't waste the transitions.
What pace for a sub-90?
A balanced athlete runs ~5:50/km (≈47 min over 8 km), leaving ~37 min for stations and ~6 for the RoxZone.
How much is lost in the RoxZone?
~6–7% of total time. Recreational athletes waste 3+ minutes there — trimming each of 8 transitions is easy free time.
Even or negative splits?
Even effort, not even pace. Later runs slow as stations fatigue your legs, so start conservative and hold form.
